Umo Bassey Eno is a multi-talented man. He serves as a Governor, a pastor, a businessman, and certainly is a family man. He worked hard and made healthy progress throughout his life. Early Life of Governor Umo Eno
Umo Eno was born on April 24, 1964. He hails from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Ikot Ekpene Udo area of Akwa Ibom but was born in Enugu, Nigeria. His father was Bassey Umo Eno, a Chief Superintendent of Police. His mother was a Deaconess, Eka Bassey Umo Eno, who was in merchandising.
Born into a disciplined family, he was the son of a police officer. It also involved travelling. He lived for a long time in Lagos. He went to the local authority primary school in Lagos. Umo Eno devotes his life to faith. He’s more than just a politician who attends worship. He is a pastor. He established the All Nations Christian Ministry International, otherwise known as The Gathering House. He was a general overseer who preached the gospel and tended to the widows for years. There was an uproar in PDP the day it was announced that he switched to APC. When Umo Eno was elected as Governor, he was still in PDF. But he totally left PDF to join APC on 6th June, 2025.

He believes that their being in the same party with the President will attract more development projects to Akwa Ibom. He is also urging more investment in the state’s infrastructure and oil and gas industry initiatives. Umo Eno lived with his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, for 38 years. They wed on July 12, 1986. Patience was more than wife. She was a co-worker in ministry and a strong woman that supported her husband. She was loved for her kindness as the First Lady of Akwa Ibom. She is the creator of Golden Initiative For All (GIFA). This foundation was to help the children who were left unprovided for and widows, with food, shelter and education.
On Sept. 26, 2024, tragedy struck. Pastor Patience passed away due to a short illness. The Governor and the entire state were deeply saddened by her demise. She was fondly addressed as Eka Iberedem Akwa Ibom (Mother Strong pillar of Akwa Ibom). Her benevolence continues to motivate numerous women around the State.
